If you’re looking to buy a cheap pre-owned Xbox 360 from GAME or Gamestation then you may be out of luck. Eurogamer reports that a spokesman for the two retailers told them that they would no longer sell pre-owned Xbox 360 Core, Arcade or 20GB non-HDMI models but trade-ins will still be accepted.

The spokesperson said that it was due to customers not wanting to buy older consoles any more, but sources within Gamestation revealed that the “high failure rate” of the old consoles was ultimately to blame for the decision.

With customers able to pick new Xbox 360’s up for less than £150 these days there’s no real reason why anyone should have to buy a pre-owned older model console, so it’s a logical move on the retailers part.
