Tucked away in a little corner of the Xbox Live Marketplace, the Indie Games section is a little haven for budding developers to show off their wares. It’s been another scant week this week, with only 6 releases. Shall we have a look at them, through the Xbox window?

Engo – t0my

This curious twin-stick shooter looks the business. Collect the stars, as many as you can in 5 minutes, over 6 arenas. Each location affects the gameplay and there are 6 weapons to collect on the maps. There are bonus items too, but beware, they’re not all good. 80 MS Points

Labyrinth X – Team Shuriken

Another week, another flimsy excuse for a scantily clad Manga –inspired girl to wander around, hacking off Ork’s heads. In this version you explore a mystic labyrinth filled with strange and sexy creatures. Call me psychic, but I kinda saw that one coming. 80 MS Points

Avatar Maze Game – Willow Games

Now, I know what you’re thinking and no, this isn’t a production based on blue aliens. This takes your Live Avatar and throws it into a maze where you can collect stars and coins. Believe it or not, this is a sequel. 80 MS Points

On A Roll 3D – Battenberg Software

Can you remember Marble Madness? This is just like that, with a little smattering of some Crash Bandicoot thrown in. 24 huge levels, 6 themed locations. Avoid the spikes, mines, dynamite, conveyor belts, springs, switches, doors, bumpers, lasers, saws, fire, ice, water, electricity and trap doors, and breathe. 80 MS Points

Fiskal Clif – The Unallied

Fiskcal Clif is the cat to save the USA. Create a prototype AmeriCar and drive it at speed along the ‘cliff of certain doom’ in this basic looking poke in the ribs at the American economy. How much fiscal risk will you assume, can you unlock medals of honour as the faster you drive the more money you will earn. This, I have to say, looks awful, but it may play well. 80 MS Points

Ajare & Watch – varga

What a bizarre looking game, modelled on the old Game & Watch titles of the 1980s. So, old of look and strange of story, this single player action adventure dares you to play the most expensive LCD game on the market, Space Bridge 2. Marvel at the graphics, talk to Cthulu. Strangeness. 80 MS Points

So, that’s your lot for this week, hope you spot something in there that tickles your fancy.
