A few months ago we brought you news of the imminent release of Painkiller Hell and Damnation. This is an HD remake of the original Painkiller game and all indications were that it would be released this year, but only as a standard edition.

Well, coming in directly from Nordic Games today, they have announced that the scheduled release date for the game will be the 5th of April and there will be a Standard Edition and a Collector’s Edition available, although there is no indication of what the Collector’s Edition will include as yet.

Nordic Games’ Production and Business Development Manager, Reinhard Pollice said:

“We have been working around the clock to bring the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game in line with the quality and standard of the PC game. There has been a slight delay so that the console communities can enjoy the fiendishly ghoulish experience that we know they want and deserve. In taking this additional time to add the final touches, we know that players will realise that the best things do come to those who wait!”

The game is set to include single and multi-player modes, with co-op gameplay across four chapters, all redrawn is glorious high-definition. So, apart from having a great name, Reinhard looks to have a great game in the works and it’s coming soon.
