Ah, the 16-bit era, home to classic arcade games. I whiled away many an hour playing A.P.B, Defender, Rampage and Toobin’. Well, it looks like I’m going to be a 16-bit junkie once more as Warner Bros. Interactive have released details for their latest compilation, Midway Arcade Origins, which should have hit the shops today.

Play over 30 classic titles in the compilation, all on one disc, with highlights including Defender, Gauntlet, Joust, Rampage, Total Carnage, Toobin’ and the brilliantly mental Smash TV.

The games will feature new local multiplayer modes, achievements, trophies and leaderboards. See if you can beat the high score you got all those years ago, or find out what your dad has been going on about all these years with ‘they don’t make them how they used to.

Here’s the full list of titles in the collection:

  • Gauntlet
  • Joust
  • Rampage

The sharp-eyed among you will have noticed that a few of the games also appear on Midway Arcade Treasures and that some were also on as XBox Live Arcade games, but have mysteriously disappeared from the store. Well, now you know why I guess.

Midway Arcade Origins is available now.
